Japanese sophora also known as Japanese pagoda tree or Chinese scholar tree (Styphnolobium japonicum syn. Sophora japonica) is in the pea family, Fabaceae. It is a deciduous tree with fragrant, creamy white flowers in late summer. It is primarily used in traditional Chinese medicine for dizziness, blood pressure, headache, internal bleeding, and hemorrhoids.
