Mentha x piperita is a low-growing, perennial aromatic in the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is thought to be native to the Mediterranean region. The essential oil and leaf preparations have many uses, chief among them relieving stomach ailments, headaches, and cold and flu symptoms.

The American Botanical Council (ABC) is passionate about helping people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs and medicinal plants. As an independent, nonprofit education organization, ABC is dedicated to providing accurate and reliable information for consumers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, educators, industry and the media.

Please enjoy this information on peppermint made available through the generosity of Aromatics Incorporated’s adoption.
