Persicaria minor (syn. Polygonum minus) is an annual herb in the knotweed family (Polygonaceae) and is native to temperate zones of Eurasia. Kesum, aka pygmy smartweed or small water-pepper, is used traditionally in Southeast Asian cooking and for indigestion, flatulence, constipation, and for stomach pain.
