Birch, Betula spp. - American Botanical Council

Betula is a genus of deciduous hardwood trees in the birch family (Betulaceae) and is native to boreal climates of the Northern Hemisphere. North American Indian tribes had many uses for birch bark and it is being studied for its anticancer properties, as a diuretic, and to treat symptoms of HIV.
