Nutritional Outlook Names Botanical Adulterants Program ‘Best of
Industry’ for 2016
The ABC-AHP-NCNPR Botanical Adulterants Program was recognized by Nutritional Outlook, one of the leading industry trade
publications in the United States, as “Industry Leader” in its “Best of
Industry 2016” awards. Jennifer Grebow, editor-in-chief of Nutritional Outlook,
wrote in the coverage of the awards that “over the past five years, the
Botanical Adulterants Program has evolved into a ‘long-term, multiparty
coalition’ of herbal experts supported by more than 175 US and international
underwriters and endorsers. Participants include universities, third-party
analytical labs, government agencies, trade associations, and industry
companies. Their shared goal is to help prevent botanical adulteration by
determining both the scope of adulteration happening in US and global markets,
as well as determining whether appropriate tools exist to detect adulteration –
and then spreading the word.”1
Other awards were presented to the Council for Responsible Nutrition
(Industry Leader), Sabinsa Corp. (Ingredient Supplier/Service Provider), and
KIND (Retail Brand/Product). A more extensive coverage of the award has been
published in HerbalGram.
