March 21-22, 2009: Quail Botanical Gardens’ 13th Annual Herb Festival, Spring Plant Sale, & Tomatomania. Quail Botanical Gardens, Encinitas, CA, USA. Quail Botanical Gardens is hosting its annual Herb Festival, Spring Plant Sale, and Tomatomania© on March 21 & 22, 9am-5pm. New this year will be the “EcoDesign Fair,” featuring a unique blend of local designers creating eco-friendly products.  “Green” home décor, furnishings, accessories, clothing and jewelry will be showcased from vendors such as Wabisabi Green, Athens Design, Micha Design, Gwendolyn Emmaline’s, Pumpkin Pie Originals, At Home on Main Street, Skoy Enterprises, +E and Dear Cora, as well as ProPeninsula, a non-profit organization that promotes environmental sustainability throughout the Baja California peninsula, including sea turtle conservation.

  • Herbal Market-place featuring herbs, herb-related products, and the A-Z of Herbs information booth
  • Speakers all day, including Jane Taylor from Maine
  • Guided Tours of the Herb Garden
  • Tomatomania® with lectures and plenty of heirloom tomato seedlings
  • Spring Plant Sale
  • Children’s Activities on Saturday from 11am 2pm
  • Ongoing music
  • Delicious and healthy food
  • Admission: Adults $10; Seniors, Students, and Active Military $7; Children ages 3-12 $5. Free for children 2 and under and for members of Quail Botanical Gardens. Parking is free.
