Institute Hiring Research Technician for
Medicinal Germplasm Program


The Bent Creek Institute of the North Carolina Arboretum recently posted an opening for a research technician. The person hired for this position would work primarily with the Institute’s medicinal germplasm program and would be responsible for collecting native plants and seeds, preparing samples for herbarium and seed storage, maintaining field and greenhouse experiments, preparing plant materials for analysis, entering and organizing data, and preparing reports and presentations for the Institute, among other tasks.

Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in biological sciences, plant physiology, or some other appropriate field of plant science and/or previous experience in native plant identification, field research, organic agriculture, or similar work.
