July 25-27,2008:Teas and Tinctures Workshop - Instructor: Fran Kelso.  You are invited to embark on a voyage of discovery! Learn how local wild plants can be used for tasty teas and tonics. You will be assigned a plant to research and gather; then you will make it into tea and describe its properties to your classmates.  Learn as a group how traditional herbalists made tinctures to preserve the essence of wild plants for later use.  Work with the group to create your own tincture from the only Alaskan member of the ginseng family.
