Cardiology Journal Refuses to Retract Error-filled Article
on Herb-Drug Interactions

In February 2010 the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) published an error-filled article on interactions of herbs with drugs used by cardiovascular patients. The American Botanical Council, among others, wrote to the journal, pointing out some of the many errors and suggesting that the article be retracted, since it was highly unlikely that it could be properly corrected and re-issued. To date, the editors of the journal have declined to publish the two letters sent by ABC or retract the article.
