ViewHMPRecordSM
Purple corn is a variety of Zea mays, an annual grain plant in the grass family (Poeaceae) and is native to Peru. Purple corn was sacred to the Inca people and is used to make a sweet, nonalcoholic beverage called chicha morada. Its anthocyanini content is responsible for many health benefits.
