Propolis is a substance made by bees from plant secretions, wax, pollen, and their own enzymes. Bees use it to repair the hive and honeycomb and to protect the hive from contagion. Humans use it for its antiseptic, antiviral, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and wound-healing effects.
