ABC hopes you and your family are well and safe. We are fortunate that the vast majority of ABC's staff and contributors are safely working from home.

The American Botanical Council has announced the recipients of its annual ABC Mark Blumenthal Herbal Community Builder Award. Mary Blue, Katheryn Langelier, and Nicole Telkes are three herbalists who became the face of the “Tradition Not Trademark” movement when they were sued for trademark infringement and battled in court to keep the herbal legacy product “fire cider” a generic term. Read more here.



ABC Presents James A. Duke Botanical Literature Award to Authoritative Text on Voynich Codex — ‘World’s Most Mysterious’ Plant Book

The American Botanical Council has presented its 2019 ABC James A. Duke Excellence in Botanical Literature Award to Flora of the Voynich Codex: An Exploration of Aztec Plants, co-authored by Arthur O. Tucker, PhD, and Jules Janick, PhD, and published by Springer. Read more here.



Dr. Mary L. Hardy Named Recipient of ABC Fredi Kronenberg Excellence in Research and Education in Botanicals for Women’s Health Award

The American Botanical Council announces that the 2019 Fredi Kronenberg Excellence in Research and Education in Botanicals for Women’s Health Award will be presented to Mary L. Hardy, MD. Hardy is board certified in internal medicine, specializes in botanical and integrative medicine, and is a leader in integrative oncology. Read more here.


Thomas Brendler to Receive ABC's 2019 Champion Award

The American Botanical Council announces that Thomas Brendler is the recipient of the 2019 ABC Champion Award. Brendler has dedicated countless hours to ABC and its publications since joining the ABC Advisory Board nearly a decade ago. Read more here.
