Embria Health Sciences Adopts New Dietary Ingredient EpiCor Fermentate Through ABC’s Adopt-an-Herb Program

Raphael Mechoulam Receives ABC Norman R. Farnsworth Excellence in Botanical Research Award

The American Botanical Council (ABC) recently presented the 2017 ABC Norman R. Farnsworth Excellence in Botanical Research Award to Professor Raphael Mechoulam, PhD, an Israeli organic chemist and the “father of cannabis research.” Mechoulam was the first researcher to isolate, determine the structure of, and synthesize delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive component of cannabis (Cannabis spp.). ABC Presents James A. Duke Botanical Literature Award in Reference and Consumer Book Categories

The American Botanical Council (ABC) has chosen two books to receive its 2017 ABC James A. Duke Excellence in Botanical Literature Awards. The first, Chinese Medicinal Plants, Herbal Drugs and Substitutes: An Identification Guide, is the recipient of the Duke Award in the reference/technical category, and the second, Joseph Banks’ Florilegium: Botanical Treasures from Cook’s First Voyage, was chosen for the consumer/popular category. Pharmatoka to Receive ABC Varro E. Tyler Award for Excellence in Phytomedicinal Research

The American Botanical Council (ABC) announces that the 2017 Varro E. Tyler Commercial Investment in Phytomedicinal Research Award will be presented to Pharmatoka SAS, a French company that specializes in the research, development, and production of herbal dietary supplements for urogenital health conditions. More specifically, Pharmatoka has focused on researching its standardized cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) extract and its effects on urinary tract health. Read more here.
