Capsanthin Ingredient May Help Regulate Intraocular Pressure, Says Recent Animal Study. Nutritional Outlook. June 18, 2021. Data from a new study performed in rats show that a proprietary, orally administrated capsanthin-containing product was able to reduce intraocular pressure on par with a standard, ophthalmically administered pilocarpine-containing pharmaceutical solution.

Understanding the Impact of Medical Cannabis on Kids, a Meta-analysis. EurekAlert! June 21, 2021. After analyzing data from close to 500 clinical studies of patients under 18 years of age, researchers have concluded that medical cannabis can be very effective at treating certain conditions in children; however, like essentially all treatments, it also has been shown to produce negative side effects as well.

Cruciferous Vegetables Optimise Muscle Growth, Research Suggests. Men's Health UK. June 21, 2021. The results of a new in vitro study suggest that sulforaphane-containing vegetables, which include broccoli and Brussels sprouts, may aid muscle growth due to the compound's inhibition of myostatin production.

A true symbol of autumn, the pumpkin gourd is one of the oldest known cultivated species, with traditional uses reaching back 10,000 years in Mexico, Central America, and North America. Once transported to Europe, the medicinal value of the pumpkin quickly spread throughout the continent and into Asia, where it was used to expel worms, as a diuretic, and to treat lower urinary tract symptoms. Read on to learn which traditional uses have been supported by modern research.
