A recently published report in the Journal of the American Medical Association has concluded that the FDA's strategy of issuing warning letters has fallen short of being effective in deterring the sale of adulterated dietary supplements that represent a public health risk.

Data from a new double-blind, placebo-controlled study have linked supplementation with a proprietary, lecithin-based Boswellia serrata extract with a reduction in symptoms including diarrhea, abdominal pain, and nausea resulting from gastrointestinal infections.

A new research study has associated supplementation with green tea extract with a reduction in blood sugar and gut inflammation in subjects with metabolic syndrome in addition to healthy individuals — an observation credited to the anti-inflammatory properties of its catechin compounds.
