April 6, 2009, 9:00a.m.: Indian Systems of Medicine Workshop. University, MS, USA. The 8th Annual Oxford International Conference on the Science of Botanicals (ICSB) is pleased to announce a pre-conference workshop on Indian Systems of Medicine to be held on April 6th, 2009.

The department of Ayurveda, Yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), in the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is pleased to announce a workshop on Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM). The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the many different systems of medicine currently practiced in India. Experts from the ministry of health and academic institutions will provide first hand information regarding the various aspects of these diverse systems of medicine. The workshop will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about traditional Indian medicines and explore the possibility of future collaborations. The Honorable Mrs. S. Jalaja, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health & F.W., Department of AYUSH, and other senior AYUSH staff will be present at the conference. The workshop will start at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, April 6th, with the opening remarks and the inauguration of the recently established Center for Research on Indian System of Medicine (CRISM) by the Honorable Mrs. S. Jalaja.
