The American Botanical Council and The Meaning of Tea® invite guests to a FREE tea tasting and Austin premiere screening of the lyrical documentary film The Meaning of Tea on March 24th to benefit the American Botanical Council. Scott C. Hoyt, the film’s acclaimed director, will be joined by Mark Blumenthal, Founder and Executive Director of ABC, to introduce the award-winning film, speak about the nonprofit herbal education organization, and offer a tea tasting of fresh, eco-farmed and certified organic teas inspired by the film. Join us for a tea-inspired evening as we explore the many meanings of tea. When: March 24, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Meaning of Tea® project is an ongoing, tea-inspired journey that celebrates the history, rituals, spirituality and simple pure enjoyment of tea through the eyes of tea lovers from many places around the world. Our vision is to utilize tea and tea-inspired film, music, books, conversation and ritual to open the hearts and minds of those who seek fresh insight into the art of living authentically in today’s increasingly virtual society. The Meaning of Tea® is an ongoing supporter of the Austin-based American Botanical Council and its herb research database, HerbMedPro. The first adopter in the American Botanical Council’s Adopt-An-Herb Program, The Meaning of Tea® adopted the Camellia Sinensis plant to ensure that scientific and clinical research about tea was made available via ABC’s HerbMedPro database. As part of this effort, every purchase made in The Meaning of Tea® virtual Tasting Room will help support this charitable cause. Date:
