In this webinar, Thomas Leonard of Gaia Herbs, Matt Dybala of Herb Pharm, and Bethany Davis of MegaFood, will showcase three models of how companies are approaching and implementing regenerative agricultural practices, discuss how other companies can apply these or similar practices, and highlight strategies that can work for the industry as a whole. Attendees will walk away with ideas and tools about where to start and/or continue programs in regenerative farming for their own companies and supply network.

Thomas Leonard is the Farm Operations Manager at Gaia Herbs in Brevard, NC. His role, at the heart of the company’s supply chain, has involved eliminating waste, ecological restoration, reducing dependency on inputs, and closing the loop from farm to facility. He is passionate about social and ecological sustainability. Thomas has focused on empowering people with disabilities, youth of all ages, and disadvantaged populations to grow plants better. In his free time, Thomas is proud to support the community based reforestation work of Contour Lines Corp.

Bethany Davis is the Director of Advocacy, Social Impact and Government Relations for MegaFood. She is the President for the Coalition for Supplement Sustainability, a group of supplement and ingredient companies that united to support a non-GMO and sustainable supply chain. She serves on the Board of Trustees of ABC and of AHPA. Bethany is deeply engaged with regenerative agricultural practices, sustainability. and transparency as they relate to the supplement industry. She holds a MS in Regulatory Affairs and Health Policy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston and is a certified coach with the Conscious Leadership Group.

Since earning a degree in Environmental Studies in 1998, Matt Dybala has dedicated his career to fostering a deeper connection between humans and our natural surroundings. Over the past decade, he has cultivated a diversity of botanicals at Herb Pharm’s production farm in southern Oregon, a region that has been recently impacted by historic levels of extreme drought, fire and population growth. In direct response to climate and environmental degradation, Matt utilizes biological soil-building practices, biodiversity assessment, and carbon capture principles to foster on-farm resiliency.
