Tuesday, December 8, 2009, 9:00 a.m.–4:15 p.m. ET: NCCAM's 10^th Anniversary Research Symposium: Exploring the Science of Complementary & Alternative Medicine. Masur Auditorium, Building 10, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) will celebrate a decade of rigorous research with this symposium. Speakers will discuss topics including natural products, mind-body medicine, and the intersection of behavioral science and integrative medicine. People have used some CAM therapies since ancient times and often with little scientific evidence.

Since its inception in 1999, NCCAM has addressed the need to examine complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approaches through the scope of rigorous scientific research and supported more than 2,200 research projects at scientific institutions across the United States and around the world. This symposium will highlight advances in the field of CAM research.
