SHP Webinar: Building Partnerships in Sourcing Natural Ingredients

SHP Webinar:  Building Partnerships in Sourcing Natural Ingredients

In the next SHP webinar, SHP Director Ann Armbrecht will talk about Elisa Aragon, Co-founder of Nelixia, an ingredient supplier based in Guatemala, about the practical ways that Nelixia works to implement sustainability goals in the communities where they source.

Many companies talk about the importance of sustainable and ethical sourcing. Yet, it can be challenging to implement in practice. Drawing on practical examples in the communities where Nelixia sources ingredients, Elisa will talk about what Nelixia’s work to generate social, cultural, and ecological wealth in the communities where they work. As she writes, “If we want our ingredients to be truly sustainable, everyone in the chain has the responsibility, the sourcing company but also the fragrance company, and the brands – to embed a social element into their supply chain. Otherwise the entire ingredient supply chain will end up disappearing.”

We will talk about how Nelixia works to do this, the challenges they have faced, and what they have learned in the process.

Nelixia strives to reinvent the way of sourcing and producing natural ingredients. Convinced that sourcing has to go hand in hand with sustainability, NELIXIA puts social and environmental aspects at the heart of all its operations. The company now has three production sites and has deployed its sustainable approach in six Latin American countries.
