August 17-24, 2014: 29th International Horticultural Congress and 5th World Congress on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (WOCMAP). Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia. The congresses are being run concurrently at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The International Horticultural Congress is being hosted under the auspices of the International Society for Horticultural Science by the Australian Society of Horticultural Science, the New Zealand Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural Science, and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community; and the World Congress on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants is organized by the International Council on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (ICMAP). The staging of both events concurrently at the same venue provides an even wider range of scientific opportunities for all delegates. Held every four years at various sites around the world, and attracting more than 2,000 delegates, the International Horticultural Congress is a world forum on all aspects of horticulture and horticultural science. The theme of the 2014 International Horticultural Congress is "Horticulture - Sustaining Lives, Livelihoods, and Landscapes." This theme was chosen to highlight the unique potential of horticulture to address the key issues of modern society - health, wealth, and the environment.
